Costs and Funding

These opportunities are made available on a not for profit basis. HTI, the co-ordinating provider of these opportunities is a registered charity.

Costs of study visits vary depending on location, time of year, and the details of the programme offered.  Guideline costs are available at the time of making an initial reservation, whilst the exact cost information is made available before the booking is confirmed.

As a general guide, the cost of a one week visit to a European destination may be between £800 and £1400 per person, whilst the cost of a visit to Australia may be up to about £1800.

These costs include:

  • All travel from a UK airport (or Eurostar London St Pancras), including local travel at the destination associated with the programme;
  • Accommodation in a 3-star hotel or similar, including bed and breakfast;
  • All programme associated costs;
  • Travel insurance;
  • Visas and associated costs.

Payment will not include:

  • Travel to and from the UK point of international departure;
  • Lunches and dinners (although some lunches may be provided within visited schools);
  • Attendance at any non-programmed cultural activities.
